This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.
Since many customers have a personal relationship with their Walgreens pharmacist, Walgreens unveiled a national effort to make the transition smooth.  Walgreens is offering a special discount on an annual membership to its prescription savings club.  During January an individual can join for $5 or a family for $10.  Members receive savings on more than 8,000 brand name and all generic medications.  Regular membership is $20 for an individual and $35 for a family. What do you think about Walgreens and Express Scripts?
Why is Express Scripts acting this way?  Perhaps they want more customers to use their Express Scripts’ mail order pharmacy instead of the local pharmacy.  Why get rid of Walgreens?Walgreens has a 90 day prescription refill policy which appears to be in direct competition with Express Scripts mail order pharmacy.  Will this be the end of local pharmacies the way we saw local bookstores driven from brick and mortar stores?  Let’s hope not. However if you need a Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens just visit their website or you can follow them on Walgreens on Twitter or like them on Walgreens on Facebook.
Lastly, Walgreens completed a proprietary survey of 823 executives and manager who are key decision makers for pharmacy benefit decisions and found that 82 percent of employers would NOT exclude Walgreens for less than a 5 percent savings.
Wake up Express Scripts and stop acting like you’re king of the hill!!!!
