Hubby and I went to Albuquerque New Mexico last October 2008 to watch the balloons Festival. Here are some pictures and my experiences in Albuquerque.

We left home October 03 2008 at 9:00 in the morning because we had to be at the San Francisco International Airport in plenty of time to catch our flight. I was a little bit grouchy that morning because my lovable husband suggested that I didn’t need to so many hair tools (curling iron, hair flattening iron, etc) but after a few minutes I told him that “I was gonna be OK” . Therefore, we arrived at the Airport safely and at least one hour early. There wasn’t a long line at the United Airlines self check-in counter and after a few minutes we were already past the security check-point and inside the airport waiting for the airplane to leave.
I was so upset when I heard that our plane was late and then, to make matters worse, we had to go to different gate. What a surprise.  Nothing is ever simple and as advertised.   I was tired of waiting to be honest. I kept asking Will “Honey when are we going to leave”?  Will patiently answered my question that we were leaving soon. Oh thank God!  There was a big smile on my face.  At exactly 1:00 pm we started boarding the airplane.  From San Francisco to Albuquerque, New Mexico it was more or less a two hour flight.  We arrived in Albuquerque airport before five o’clock in the afternoon (New Mexico time).  Albuquerque is a very calm place, not crowded at all. Their buildings are very different compared to a big city like San Francisco. Dad drove from Tucson to Albuquerque but we were staying at the same hotel. I was so excited to see Dad because it’s been 2 years since the last time we saw each other.  He had visited us in 2006.
For dinner we went to a Mexican food restaurant and for the first time I had a sapodillas with honey. hmmmm yum.

We went to bed early on Friday because we had to get up early on Saturday.   We had to be up no later than 4:00 am.  Yikes!  Way too early! I was so excited to attend the fiesta and eat lots of yummy food and check out all the souvenirs there.   I was so amazed when we got to the fiesta.  The fiesta grounds/park was almost full.   I couldn’t even find a bench for us to sit on and unwind while waiting for the balloon show.  The day sped by and I never felt bored because I enjoyed the fiesta so much.  On Saturday we went to Santa Fe, New Mexico for dinner.  It was more than one hours drive from Albuquerque but it was a fun.  Dad drove and all three of us shared funny jokes.

Finally, after our 4 days in Albuquerque we had to go home and back to reality but I would say that the experience with Dad and Will was worth it.  I’m looking forward to our next vacation plan this year.
