It was a beautiful day today in our neighborhood.  The morning sun was a welcome respite from the rain which started at the beginning of the week.  Our rainy season here in northern California is usually from November through February.  We've had a strange, cooler than usual summer, so I guess it stands to reason that we should have a different rainy season too.  A not so quick trip yesterday to a larger, neighboring town to shop for larger amounts of supplies.  We really needed to make the trip as we have been extremely busy all summer and could not get away to make the 45 minute trip.  A stop at our favorite In 'n Out Fast food was our lunch treat for the day.

Our cats had decided that their litter boxes were too small, so I purposely bought a much larger one.  As I looked at it laying in the back seat of our car, I thought it was big enough for a child to sit in and roller coaster down a snowy slope.  Alas, it went into the garage and is now filled with litter.  Now to see if the cats will use it!  Our neighbors were having a birthday celebration today for their Grandpa and they were planning a lot of nice surprises for him.

He was a World War II veteran and some of his buddies are still living and coming to the party. I hope they had a good time. It was a wonderful day for a party or just to be alive.  Grab every moment and seize the day.  If you are reading this, you are lucky.....you are still here.
