I had no idea what rain chains were all about until my hubby told me about them. Rain chain are a decorative and functional item that you can place on the exterior of your home or in your garden. It funnels rainwater down to a ceramic bowl or perhaps a decorative rain barrel. It comes in many different styles and designs. As for what they look like, they are a series of vertical group of decorative cups or trinkets that catch rain and are connected via links of chain.
Hubby told me also that chains rain or rain chain are normally made of copper but these days they are most likely using iron and aluminum. Rain chains can be used without gutters, but they do depend upon a vertical water source to function most efficiently. When I looked at all the pictures on the website they are all so unique and beautiful compared to our plain old run of the mill gutters.
