We were in San Diego a few months on a short road trip from Phoenix to San Francisco. We were driving the Ford F-150 because our Hummer was getting repainted. The F-150 has quite a comfortable ride along with decent gas mileage.
Anyway, while we were in San Diego the check engine light came on and we thought it best to find a San Diego auto repair shop to have it checked out. Since we aren’t from San Diego we went online using my Iphone to www.repairpal.com to find out how much we might expect to pay for this type of problem. The cool thing about repairpal.com is that not only does it give you an estimate of how much it should cost but it also gives you several auto shop choices that have been reviewed by other customers and the shop location.
We were pleased as punch not to have to stop at some corner gas station and worry about getting ripped off. It turned out not to be a significant problem and it was quickly resolved. Once we were back on the road we got out handy Iphone out and accessed repairpal.com to add our review.
